The company maintains a research-scale production facility at the Industrial Materials Institute of National Research Council Canada (IMI-NRC). With a wealth of experience in the molecular orientation of plastic polymers, resident scientists collaborate closely with Rtica engineers on fibre process technology. Typical studies include the evaluation of raw materials, fibre properties, and process equipment monitoring.

For blown-in-place applications, RTICAŽ is supplied in the form of unexpanded Rbuds™ that requires expansion combined with delivery into place. Rtica engineers developed integrated expand/blow prototype machines that proved successful in field trials by professional contractors.

Design and production of the equipment that expand Rbuds to RTICAŽ specifications are being conducted by Fiber Handling Systems.
